Bridging Rigorous Science & Lived Wisdom
CoRe-ED is an Australian-registered health promotion charity (ACN: 683 409 574) connecting leading academic investigators, frontline clinicians, and lived-experience advocates across more than 40 international partner organisations to accelerate equitable eating disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery.
Why CoRe-ED Was Established
For decades, eating disorders research has faced critical barriers: scientific discovery was isolated within institutional silos, clinical translation took years to reach practitioners, and individuals with lived experience were treated as passive research subjects rather than essential design partners.
Launched in September 2024, CoRe-ED was established to eliminate these divides. By embedding researchers, clinicians, lived-experience advocates, and partner institutions within a shared governance charter, we ensure every discovery is scientifically rigorous, clinically actionable, and compassionately grounded in real human experience.
