Sembrando Semillas
Sowing the seeds of hope for eating disorders
Consortium for Research in Eating Disorders (CoRe-ED) is proud to be supporting the Sembrando Semillas team in the 2025/2026 Next Big Research Idea initiative. The team will improve awareness and much needed understanding of eating disorders among health professionals in Latin America through a brief, accessible training program.
Many clinicians receive little or no formal education about eating disorders and may encounter persistent myths and stigma that delay identification and treatment. By delivering a single session, culturally adapted training, this research will help dismantle common misconceptions, provide practical knowledge for early detection and support more compassionate care.
Improving frontline awareness can shorten the time between illness onset and treatment, helping people with eating disorders access appropriate support and ultimately promote recovery.
We hosted a brilliant Online Mini Symposium in May 2026 - contact hello@core-ed.com.au to access the recording
